Dietary, Allergens, Calories & Other Product Details as Variations

When using Square Online for Food Business, I've noticed that when using a product with variants especially drinks you don't have an option of the following...

- Weight (its stuck at kg) so I want to be able to change the measurement unit on each product.

- Dietary, Allergens & Calorie Count - can only be inputted if it's a standalone product. The variants aren't exactly geared up for food service as it says ideally for T-Shirts Sizes and colours etc. It would be great if each variant was treated as a product.

My example of using variants is mainly on drinks. We sell alot of varieties of Pepsi. Bottles, Cans and different sugar content ones. So instead of creating an individual item for each bottle I create one product called Pepsi Selection and list the items as variants so its more easier to keep in one place.

Hi @thecafeguy, thank you for your suggestion!

On the measurement, if you are selling items by different units, you can definitely set this up on Square and it'll be synced over to the Square Online site. A note that the Weight field will still be calculated in kilogram, but you can set a price per gram or ml

With regards to listing dietary, allergens and calorie count, these fields are currently available per item rater than per variations. I will be sure to pass your feedback to the appropriate but in the meantime, you can also include the information as the item description as a workaround.

@tranguyen Please put me as a +1 for dietary info for modifiers. Would be really helpful

@thecafeguy to cover my back on the allergy bit I've got a free text modifier on every item online like this & while it doesn't provide the info it at least gives customers an opportunity to let you know.

Regarding the weights - I think you're at cross points @tranguyen. I know the bit you mean where you can change the units in the Square dashboard but I think @thecafeguy is referring to online where you can only put in kg for a product.

@thecafeguy - I think this area is for the automatic shipping that only works in the US, so they system would know the weight of each product in an order & it's not there as a point of customer information. Where I've got weights & measures I've put them in the product description as can't find anywhere else.

I would like to add our name to this list.  We also desire to see the option for adding multiple calorie values to a single item.  We have numerous items that have multiple options each of which has a different calorie value.
