Designing my eGift Card: What dimensions should my image be?

I'm trying to design my own eGift cards but no matter what size I try, it doesn't fit the box and once uploaded, you can only move the image, not make it larger. Looking to know what size picture I need to have that will look good as the eGift Card image. I'm using canva to create the image so I can set what ever dimensions necessary. Just don't know what those dimensions are. TY.

Great question @ChrisChadwick! When you're uploading your own image the recommended dimensions are 640 X 400 pixels.

If you need any other information let me know!

This information should be clearly listed somewhere in the "Manage Designs" section in eGift Cards. Took me a while to finally stumble upon this thread!

What is the recommended/required DPI for eGift Card custom design images and accepted image file formats? Images for designs offered by Square appear to be 72 DPI .png files. Thank you.

I'll double check this for you @VCS! Are you having trouble with 72dpi images/another size or file type?

Hey again @VCS! Sorry to keep you waiting on this.

As it turns out when uploading eGift Cards custom designs the DPI and file type aren't as important as the pixel size (640 X 400 pixels) so we don't state minimun requirements. What's more, when you upload an image file - it's automatically converted to a PNG.

I hope this useful information, please let me know if you have any additional questions!

I cannot download my own e gift card design. I have designed it to the 640 pixels x 400 pixels.

What else can I do? I saved as a jpeg

@cynthiajames - sorry for the trouble. Looks like you saved the image as the preferred file.

Have you tried switching browsers? Sometimes that fixes most issues with uploading files.

Let me know.

I have uploaded my 640x400 .jpg image which looks great UNTIL I look at it on the gift card website. It's all fuzzy, especially compared to the built in images.

Hi there, @Healthybelly,

We have moved this post a board where other Sellers have discussed this topic and those dimensions that have worked for their Square eGift cards.
