Hi
I am trying to develop a web ordering system for our Pizza Business. I want customers to be able to order, pick a time and then that time becomes unavailable to any other customers that evening. I have tried to do this but cannot see this functionality.
The issue is that if 10 customers order for 6.30PM we get a build up of customers and cannot serve them all at once - not good in Covid times.
I have a web developer onboard but would love any pointers to any kind of app (Square or 3rd party) that links up with our Wordpress website and Square payment.
Thanks for any help in advance.
Pete

Hi @PetesPizzas, thanks for your post! Before we dive into this, can you let me know if you are setting this up on the Square Online site or is there a different system you are using?
If you are setting it up on the Square Online site, what you can do is limit the number of orders that can be picked up or delivered at the same time. To do this, navigate to your Square Dashboard > Online > Settings > Pickup & Delivery.
From here, you'll need to click Edit location > Edit order timing settings.
You can set it so that only 1 order can be place every 15 minutes. This will ensure that customers won't be able to select the same time slots twice.

Be aware that if a customer selects a time slot, and not ASAP, the order staggering does not work. Therefore tickets set to 2 orders per 15 mins can be triple booked and this of course has a knock on effect. Square are aware of this issue, but there seems to have been no fix as yet.
