Customized coffee
I am looking to do customized coffee at my concession stand /cafe. I would like to have the key be small coffee and then have modifiers for cream sugar flavor. I would like to add more then one of the same modifiers to the cup of coffee. For example. Small coffee add 2 creams 3 sugar 1 shot of carmel. Is there a way to do this? Please help.

@Idac On the Square POS, which I am assuming you use here, there is currently no way to indicate quantities for modifiers like cream, sugar and flavors. The work around I would suggest is this.
Create a Cream Modifier with these entries:
- No Cream
- Light Cream
- Cream x1
- Cream x2
- Cream x3 and so on.
Create a Sweetener Modifier with these entries:
- No Sweetener
- Sugar
- Stevia (etc for each sweetener you offer)
- Extra sweetener x1
- Extra sweetener x2, and so on
Create a Flavor Modifier with these entries:
- No Flavor
- Caramel
- Chocolate
- Hazelnut, etc for all of your flavors
- Extra flavor x1
- Extra flavor x2, and so on
When you attach your Modifier lists to your Coffee, be sure that more than one selection can be made in each list, and be sure that a minimum of 1 selection is required for each list, even if that selection is your “no xxxx.” That should allow you to do what you want. It’s not exactly what you asked for, but it’s workable.
Let me know if you have any other questions.

@Idac Great question. From your dashboard:
- Go to your Item Library and choose the Item (Coffee, I believe?)
- Scroll down to the section titled “Modifier Sets”
- For each modifier set that you have checked, click on the blue “Customize” that is UNDER the modifier set. You will be presented with a screen similar to the one included below.
- At the top, you’ll see drop downs for “Required Modifiers” and “Maximum Modifiers.”
- Set Required Modifiers to 1.
- If you will allow more than one selection, leave Maximum Modifiers at None. This means there is no maximum number that can be checked.
- Click Done to return to the Item edit
- Click Save to save the changes.

@Idac You are very welcome. If you ever need any more help with setting up your item library, including creative workarounds for features that are not yet available, let us know.
I’ll point out before I go that, if you didn’t notice, that screen also has the ability to select default modifiers. So, for example, if you have a burger and it always gets lettuce, tomato and pickles, you can set those default modifiers ONLY for burger and customers can deselect one if they don’t want tomatoes, but want to add other garnishes instead. No need spend a lot of time training cooks what goes on items, since the items will always print with ONLY the modifiers the customer wants, even if the customer only wants the usual modifiers. That was a godsend when it came out!
Best,
