Creating an item using existing items

Hoping someone can help please!

I currently sell items A through to F.

In addition to selling A-F, I would like to offer product 1, which is made up the customers selection of products A-F, to a maximum of six items. Inventory for product 1 is irrelevant, but I would like the customers selection of items A-F to make product 1 to update the underlying inventory of A-F. Is this possible? If so, how?

Hi @ThornleyS, thank you for reaching out!

From what you described, items A-F would basically work as variations of Product 1. At the moment, it isn't possible to set an item up as an independent item and also a variation on another item.

In this case, you'd need to set the items A-F up independently from the selection under Product 1 and adjust stock manually. 

I'll definitely pass this to our product team as a feature request for future releases!

This would be really useful for managing things like seasonal/promotional gift packs so I second this request..

Thanks @tranguyen. I have set up the product as you’ve suggested while we see what the development boffins can come up with. However I see that I’m limited to 250 product variations - is there any way to increase this or overcome this limitation?
