Connecting a terminal to a register

Hey guys,

I have a square register and I  have to 2 entrances to my shop with a barrier in between the two doors all my my counter. 

is it possible to connect a terminal to my register to reduce the cost of buying another till and make it easier for my customer?

Hi @jadene 

Yes you can setup the Square terminal to the same location as you register, so the sales you take on the terminal will be added to the sales you take on the register.

So we have the register and terminal both connected to our shop location. The sales taken on the terminal will be visible on the register transaction, reports etc. We also have on our Square phone app in case there is a broadband issue snd we have to take sales very mobile network. Nice back up to have.

So in you dashboard attach your terminal to the same location as the register or the other way round.

I was in York over the weekend and a retailer had 4/5 registers 😱😱😱.

@jadene you'll see it used a lot in restaurants we're the terminals are taken to the tables as well as having registers. It acreally smart neat system.

We use the terminal to supplement our register when the ships busy. Uou can attached scanners etc to the terminal if you need to. There's a lot to Square but it suits most situations, and if not there is usually a compromise work around
