Confused on laying this all out, categories, subcategories, items, options, variations, modifiers

I am hopeful i can get some insight from someone out there who may understand what it is i am trying to do.

I make pins, I have several different options and I am not sure how to go about this.
Every time I think I have it figured out, it doesn't work how I need it too when I view it.

So I have 100's of designs to choose from.
I have currently have 4, ways of doing them that buyers need to choose from.
all have different pricing for each kind, and then I also have 2 for $$ combined pricing choices.

High Quality Wooden Pins

4 finish choices
hand painted epoxy - $20 ea or 2 for $35
Pattern Print sealed - $18 ea or 2 for $30
hand painted sealed - $15 ea or 2 for $25
natural plain wood sealed - $12 ea or 2 for $20

design choices are broke down into several categories (here are 2 examples)
• 80's retro | old school
• Animals | Plants | Insects

each category has anywhere from 10 to 50 designs to choose from.
• 80's retro | old school
    - 45 adapter
    - roller skates
    - atari joystick

    - etc
• animals | plants | insects
    - owl
    - daisy
    - froggy
    - paw print

    - etc

how do i do this so customers can choose from all available designs if wanting a 2 for $$ combined pricing deal, or if they just want one?

I want to make sure I can add to the categories and or designs as I create or make more in
the future.

which items go into categories / sub categories / items / options / variations or modifiers etc?
I am struggling greatly with trying to figure this all out. I am beyond
confused and extremely frustrated at this point. ugh ugh

or is this not even possible?

if I can't do it like this, and I use discounts or coupons, how would a buyer know to use those?

Maybe you can suggest an easy way to do this, maybe I am just over confusing myself, I don't know, I just hope someone can give me some insight or visual reference or something.

HI, it can be done.  You are on the right path and with so much information it can be confusing.

The Square platform is not able to accommodate the 2fers on the main listing, (buy this design and that different design).  But you can have a selection one is $20. two $35 etc. of the same design.

You can create a separate listing with every single combination available that you have and the customer can choose different designs but that would be even more confusing.

Not on the same listing

hand painted epoxy - one listing
Pattern Print sealed - one listing
hand painted sealed - one listing
natural plain wood sealed - one listing

Yes, to the rest of your examples.

Options and Pricing - anything the item needs regarding pricing.

Modifiers - ex. a text box to capture personalization or a color selection (does not require a price)

You can create Option Sets for anything that will repeat ex. colors.

Best advice, step away for a day or two for your creativity to flow.  You are breaking things down correctly, it is just a lot all at once.

Hope This Helps!

but if i have hand painted epoxy

then i need all the categories of

• 80's retro | old school

• Animals | Insects | Plants

• etc

under each kind:

• hand painted epoxy $20

• pattern print sealed $18

• hand painted sealed $15

• plain natural sealed $12

and then under each category i need the designs and i have more than 20 designs under each category.

Which things should i put into which place.... category or sub category or items or options/variations or modifiers?

I get about the 2fers$$, which i guess i can just make coupons or discounts for those from what i gathered, from support chat.
So i am now just trying to figure out the easiest way to lay all this out.

so after countless hours and frustrations, here is what i finally started fresh with below, is this the easiest way, or is there an easier way? Cause this is going to take forever to do with all  my sub categories & designs etc.

category - high quality wooden pins

sub category - 80's retro | old school

items - 45 adapter

          - polaroid camera

          - roller skates

          - etc

options variations - HP epoxy 20

                                - Pattern Print 18

                                - HP sealed 15

                                - Natural Plain sealed 12

or should i reverse the current above example items and variations and put items as the finish (ex hp epoxy 20) and options variations as the designs (ex: 45 adapter etc)

I want to be able to just copy what i can, so i am trying to make this as easy as possible to repeat, if that  makes sense. UGH

HI, hopefully seeing an example will help.

Click Wood Pins, the sub-categories display, click Finish, the sub-sub categories display, click Themes, the sub-sub categories display

thank you so much for the example and doing that on your site.

it kind of helps, but i am still confused under where you have the finish.....

how does one choose the theme/design under the finish?

here is what i have

https://drafts.editmysite.com/d/x37D7MJwGkf2OqZnJ8zNU1L2qrQ/product/natural-plain-wood-sealed/66

do you think this will work for what i am doing, so i can add more later etc.

I am not sure how to go about the discounts yet, the 2 for $$

any suggestions on that topic?

So maybe my way i started isn't going to work. with the design choices as options/variations.

While I was adding options/variations it now tells me to remove at least 20 options or

it'll exceed the 250, which makes no sense, because I don't have close to 250 choices.

I have about 16 under retro and approx 31 under animals...

So now I am super confused again, ugh

HI, because you have it under different options and features, each different combination of one counts as one.  So it will make more.

Thank you for the visual reference.....

Ok, so you have several different ways you are showing me, right?
I hope I am grasping this right.

What is the path or areas for each of these:

Wood Pins?

Themes?

80's Retro?

Wood Pin test?

     • Theme = Modifier Drop Down

     • Finish = Modifier Drop Down

Should I just make all my pins in all the themes as individual items then or....

ugh I am still having a hard time grasping this.

In your examples above for your test you did....

What is the path or areas for each of these:

Wood Pins?

Themes?

80's Retro?

Wood Pin test?

     • Theme = Modifier Drop Down

     • Finish = Modifier Drop Down

I am working on the items, but would like to understand your way.

Thanks so much for your help. 😃
