Commission Links?

Hi all,

My product is educational, so a lot of my sales come from schools and educational center's recommending my products for a commission. At the moment I do this via coupon codes - whenever a specific centres coupon code is used on a sale, I know they drove that sale and can assign them commission.

But some students forget to use a coupon, so I have no way of knowing who to attribute this sale too (or if I need to at all, they might have found me naturally from Google).

Is Square able to do referral links? For example I could give a link out to a centre that was say www.myproduct.co.uk/Centre1. This link would then redirect to the main store, but any sale made by the customer, I'd be able to track it back to the centre that referred that student.

Does this already exist? Or is there a better way to do it other than coupon codes?

Thanks very much.

First up, no - no referral links or tracking available.

This could be something a 3rd party might be able to offer - but not really the thing I tend to see advertised!

Two other options comet to mind - but only you can say if they're any good!

1) Have a drop down (*required) 'where did you hear about us?' modifier on each item. List all of your clients & google/other etc.

2) (This one is a little labour intensive to set up!) Have different item pages for client. So you have your main page with all your regular stuff on, but then also www.myproduct.co.uk/Centre1 with all the items listed (would need to be separate items in your catalog, but can be hidden from the main page layout) with an SKU so you know what page the order came in on.

Option two would be the most seamless from a customer point of view - but would mean you'd loose tracking if they then revisit your page later. (ie. follow a link on a Monday & have a look though but then go back to your main site Tuesday & place their order).

Option 2 is the answer im looking for. It would be some extra work but would work very well for tracking. Because the links are static on the advertisers websites I think it would work well.

Thanks very much for your help!
