Changing the phone number on my account and adding a new one

I have a new phone number on my old phone and need to change the number on my account.  I also want to add a number so I can accept payment on two phones.  Also, I need a reader that will read the chip cards.  Will my two year old regular square card reader read chip cards at all?

To add a new phone number, you'll want to visit the Account and Settings section of your Square Dashboard. It's easy to add a new number to your account.

I need to add a new phone number to my account BUT it is sending the code to the number that is no longer working HOW DO I GET ON THE DASHBOARD TO CHANGE THIS

To accept payments on a separate (or new) phone, you won't need to update the phone number on your Square Account! All you'll need to do is simply download the Square Point of Sale App and sign in using the email address and password that you use to sign into your Register App.

 

 @revagreenhouses Your older reader won't be able to process chips but you can still swipe with the magstripe on a credit cards. Check out our shop for all our new hardware to make sure that you can accept those chip cards.

I had to change my password because I had forgotten the old one (it had been a while since I had used the account) so I got the email to change the password, but then it asks for a verification code that was sent as a text message to my OLD phone number.  That number is no longer in service so I cannot access the text messages.  I cannot get into the dashboard otherwise to change my phone number since I cannot verify.  HELP 🙂

Hey @samhenryggg, are you still encountering trouble with changing your phone number?

 

If you're referring to the number that shows up on receipts and invoices, here's how to change it: I am trying to change the e-mail address that is listed on the bottom of invoices being sent out?

To change you phone number in Square Online:

go to Dashboard < Accounts & Settings < Business < Location < Click On Number 

 

To change your phone number in Square appointments:

go to Dashboard < Appointments < Staff < Click On Number

I too need to change my account phone number and also my account email address. I went to the Account and Settings section of my dashboard and then to Personal Information but don't see the spot to "add a new phone number",

Your system won't let me change my old inactive email address to a new one until I change phone number.

Change phone number from Account & Settings > Business > Locations.

I only need one phone.  My old one was 979-574-0580 but could not be transferred to my new number.  I do not use a credit card but do use the computer keyboard but enter the charges on my computer.  The new phone is 979-286-0071.  I have been a Square and I have been a client for 10 + years, and I don't what to do. From my small company I have generated in excess of 100,000 in revenue.

 

Please call and advise what I should do.
