Can you issue a refund without attaching it to a previous sale?
To provide our customers with the best customer service we would like to be able to issue a refund on product returned to us at any time. If the customer doesn't have a receipt, if they are passed the Square return policy date, and if their name was not recorded at the time of the sale. Is there currently a way to refund a customer without attaching it to a sale?
Thank you

Hi @WineRetail - Here are Square's refund policies.
It looks like refunds have to be associated with a previous transaction and, if the item was in other tender (including cash and check), you have 180 days to process that refund.
Hope this helps!

You can also just do it as a payout and enter comments in the notes section as to what it was for, such as refund of xyz
