Can variations have their own SKUs for one item?

[The title of this thread has been edited from the original: Looking for how I can create an item with more than one variation but separate SKU's]

I am looking to create an item with more than one variation, but still retain separate SKU's. I want to sell a specific style of T shirt with two different sizes and three different colors but I would like each one to have it's own SKU.

So if I have large and small, in green, black and purple, I would like an sku for the Large Green, Large black, and Large purple, and one for each small green, small black, and small purple.

My issue is, is that I would like to have this under just one Item:  X Style T shirt.

is this possible?

Thank you so much for any help!

Hey @BlackSwan Thanks for explaining that. I hear you - having multiple variation options would be really nice, but at this time it is currently a feature request. You would have to consider having multiple variations for one item, like "shirt," for example, or having many items with only a view variations.

For example, you could have "Blue Shirt" as the item with only 3 variations (S, M, L). This is what I see most sellers do as it helps simplify things a bit more.

Let me know if you have any other questions. 🙂

@BlackSwan - You can absolutely do this with Square's inventory system. Once you create variations in the Item library you'll see a spot to enter a separate SKU next to each one. Additionally you can add stock levels to them as well.

The best answer on this thread points you in the right direction on how to create item variations. I moved your post so you can see.

Thank you, but I was looking to add two variations to one product with individual SKUs for each.

Hey @BlackSwan-

Yes, you can have one item, with two variations, each with their own SKU:

I hope that answers your question! 💡

Thank you for your reply.

What I was looking for (to use the example you gave), was to have those three variations, Regular, Small, and Medium, but to have each of those have a variation as well. So, Regular in Blue and Red, Small in Blue and Red, and medium in Blue and Red.

So one product with a choice of size, then color with separate SKU's but listed under one product, say, Vintage T Shirt
