Can a square reader be assigned to another account?

I received a square reader awhile ago and assigned it to my design  business. I don't want to accept credit cards for this business and want to re-assign the reader to my resale shop. Can I do that?

the card readers are "dumb" devices, meaning they are not tied to any specific account and can interchange freely between accounts.  They simply work with the Square POS app and use whatever account is signed in.
