Can I use Square to process monthly/annual subscriptions from my customers?

We are developing a cloud application and will be selling subscriptions to our offering to small to medium sized businesses on a monthly or annual basis. I know we can use Square for any transactional purchases, but can Square handle processing monthly subscriptions?
