Perhaps this will only be achieved through the use of a 3rd party App. We don't sell items. We provide services. Once a staff member has completed a task, or a number of tasks, we would like them to be able to scan the items completed. That way we will know the job has been completed and will be able to attribute the amount of work done by each staff member to that staff member.
Any suggestions. I was thinking along the lines of using barcodes and staff members being able to scan codes done.

This might be possible if you created items for each task, but to be honest I'm not sure how successful it would be.
The items would need to be set to $0, and you would need to process the items as a transaction, which surely isn't the intended use of scanning barcodes. You would then need to record the $0 payment as a cash payment, because there is a $1 minimum on card transactions.
I suppose then you would need to go to that specific transaction in order to see the work done by an employee, which could get very tricky if you have lots of transactions in a given day. Let me know if you have other questions about this, @Finesse.
