4 Digit CVV?

How do you enter in a 4 digit CVV when it's only allowing 3 digits? It's an American Express card, but square isn't letting me use 4 CVV digits.

The Square invoicing and POS system will autodetect that a number entered is an Amex (if it is entered correctly) and allow 4 digit entry.  so maybe they didn't enter the card number correctly as Amex numbers are different than Visa/ MC numbers.

Invoice is your best option.  It work two days ago with our company.

My client is trying to use a Mastercard to pay an invoice. Square is only allowing 3 of the 4 numbers on the back of the card to be entered. What are your suggestions?

Hi there, @Missyrebekah - thanks for reaching out to us here on the Seller Community. Welcome! Happy to have you.

I've gone ahead and merged your post into an existing thread of Sellers who were also looking for information regarding trouble entering in a 4 digit CVV code. Take a look at the helpful tips from VanKalkerFarms on this same thread.

Usually Mastercard only required 3-digit CVV's, while AMEX requires 4. Are you by chance using an international card?

My Amex only has a 3 digit cvv code and square is demanding a 4 digit code and no, it's not an international card, it's a regular US card.
