We made it to Wednesday y'all! 🎉
Today I'm wondering....
Do you use TikTok to advertise your business?
Why or why not? Would you suggest other business owners use it?
Can't wait to read your replies 🤓

Yes, I had no interest in Tik Tok but as soon as one of my videos got over 200k views, I have people from all over booking with me, saying they saw me on tik Tok. In two weeks I went from 7 followers to 7.5K followers. I will be advertising on there soon.

Well, we tried this app - didn't really fit our particular customer demographics but, we can see that it works "quite well" for other demographics. The one suggestion we can toss out there - TikTok has no options for controlling the volume sound level within the app, at least that was the feed back we received from people we know. Yep, there are plug-ins for web browsers that resolve this concern to a point however, we have not seen any resolutions for iPhones or iPads to date, it's just full on volume sound or you have to totally mute your device. As compared to Instagram, when one posts a video - you can either listen or mute the sound within the app - in most scenarios, you have to enable the sound. Seems like this should be a very simple no-brainer option for TikTok. We understand that getting one's attention via loud music or sound has it's merits for some generations however, there are different generations out there who have other thoughts. Us old school folks seem to prefer Instagram's options for now whereas we have volume control. Hey, it's just a different point of view from some of the boomer generation.
Best JK, 😎

Best way to learn is to get out there and do it- there are tons of tutorials on YouTube on how to use the app.

I responded previously that our store has not used this app. and am curious about the ones that do, is it a business account or are they all lumped together? I think the app. lends itself to making products (DYI) and have seen many talented people put it to music or with original sound regarding a story to keep interest. We don't as a store have any plans to make an account but one of our employees did a start-up and went viral with a college project. This has nothing to do with our shop but it was a huge boost to her career. Regardless of the platform, I think the most important part would be value added to others, to make it pay off in the long run. That could be entertainment value, teaching skills, exploring things and places that many wouldn't experience. It is an interesting newer platform to look into if your business has something to offer of interest. I don't know much about the algorithms but in general I think that quality content is always going to be more important for long term success. I have heard (no pun intended) that with TikTok sound quality is an important factor as well.

hi there, we started as a personal account but made our name our shop- once we got to 1000 views we switched to a creator account (our TT is @amityvilleapothecary
you need to post consistently- I've been "feeding" TikTok about 2 times a day.
You need to use ALL of what TT had to offer- stitch, duet, green screen, etc.
it's a lot to keep up with but there are many accounts you can follow that offer tutorials for businesses.
I think EVERY business needs to find a way to get on TT because it is FREE advertising;

It simples and affective. Create multiple clips, set time, and fund and watch it grows. You can turn it on/off as you need.
