Square reader is not reading the card. I'm forced to enter card information manually. How can I fix

Square reader is not reading the credit card in either slot. I'm forced to enter the card information manually. Is there an update? And if there is where do I go for it? Thanks for your time.

Try these steps from Squares Trouble shooting.  Would need more information to help you better like which hardware and operating systems your using.

Usually, it is just a matter of going into the settings>hardware>Square Card Readers>Click on the reader and click forget this reader.

Then do the same in Bluetooth and then go back to settings>hardware>Square Card Readers> Connect a reader, press the button on the reader until it blinks orange and the phone asks you if you want to pair this reader, click that and done.
