Software / Hardware Recommendation?

Hello all, I'm an independent cosmetologist and I'm moving into a new salon and I need to set up my payment processing using Square.  I'm excited about the opportunities with Square but I need some recommendations.  I want to use Square Appointments to schedule my clients and send reminders, etc.  I'm wondering if I can use the Appointment software on my Chromebook which I use at work anyway, then just use the Square Terminal to process payments?  I'm looking for a smaller payment processor that can be portable when I need it to be, but I don't want the reader that plugs into my phone, etc.  Thanks!

@KerriLee a chromebook would work just fine.  The terminal is one of the most awesome accessories I have ever found as far as versatility.

You can run the online dashboard, appointments can be run right from the chrome browser on any computer/chromebook.  The terminal gives you tap pay and every other feature you need to get a payment done.
