New to Square, with 5 General Questions.

I’m looking to switch to Square and I have several questions that I need to know before I can make a decision. I run a small diner with a hotel attached and I use the diner’s register for both establishments.   

Can you use 2 different tax rates the same item like food and hotel tax?

 

Can items be tracked and reported by day per month?

 

Can there be employee number and how many and how much?

     
How difficult is it to switch between numbers?

 

Can you add tips in or print a slip to add the tip?

 

Any help from the community would be greatly appreciated.

Let me see if I can answer your questions 🤔

 

1. Can you use 2 different tax rates the same item like food and hotel tax?

 

Yes. You can customize taxes to be turned on or off for specific items. You can set this up on the computer to ensure the taxes are set up for the right items, or categories. Here is more information on managing taxes. You can also turn a tax on or off for a sale while using the Point of Sale. 

 

2. Can items be tracked and reported by day per month?

 

Yes. We have an Item Sales report that you can view daily or monthly. The date and time range is customizable. Here is more information on the reports we can/do generate for our sellers. 

 

3. Can there be employee number and how many and how much?   

 

Yes! You can add employees under our Team tab in the Online Dashboard. You can add an employee ID to each employee/team member profile you create. We don't have limits to how many team members you can add. Click here to view a breakdown of our Team Management pricing.

 

4. How difficult is it to switch between numbers?

 

I'm a little confused by this question... If you reply with a bit more detail, I will look into this for you. 

 

5. Can you add tips in or print a slip to add the tip?

 

You can do either. You can either have your customers leave a tip by selecting the amount on the screen of your Point of Sale device or they can sign and tip on a printed receipt.

You can change the employee ID for Team Management whenever.
