Looking for report that shows breakdown of deposit.

Brand new here.  Accountant is frustrated.  Looking for a report that shows the breakdown of each deposit (sale, sales tax, any fees, etc. that equals the amount deposited into the bank account.   I feel like Square should be able to run some sort of report for the month that shows the sales, tax collected, fees charged and the amount deposited.  Any thoughts?

Hello @TomEdison thanks for your post. I understand your frustration, it took me a while to figure out where to look and find certain things. If you go into your Dashboard online and Reports > Sales Summary. You're going to look for the Payments Section. The Card amount is the total of credit card sales for that day. Then minus the Fees listed. This should equal the deposit into your bank account.

A few things to keep in mind. Don't include Cash sales (because Square doesn't even touch your cash so they won't be taking any fees out of that and won't be depositing that money for you). Also if you have a Square Loan, that fee would also need deducted for the day (and that amount is not on your Summary Report. You need to go to the Loan section to find that fee).

Also, your close of business time may affect your daily totals. If you have your end of day set in Square for 5 pm, but still are open and take payments up until 9 pm, then those sales after 5 will end up on your next day report/deposit...this can really give you a headache to figure out. Make sure your end of day in Square matches up with when you stop receiving payments.

I hope this helps answer your question.

Thank you for the information!  I found what I was looking for right after I posted.  (Life is like that)

A detailed transaction report with each transactions processing fee can be found by doing the following:

Log into your Online Dashboard

Select Transactions from the left-hand navigation bar

Edit the date for a more refined search

Select Export from the upper right hand bar

Select Transactions CSV

This exported CSV will give you a list of each transaction with its own breakdown of fees
