Girl Scout account vs personal account.
I set up an account for the Girl Scout troop. Now I’d like to set up a personal account. I tried to set up a new account but it states my info is already associated with an account. Also can I get the free-transaction bonus for setting up my personal account? Thank you.

Hi there, @Kjkmom 👋 Thanks for reaching out to us here on the Seller Community! Happy to have you join us here!
Good questions! We can help clarify. I am assuming when you activated your account for the Girl Scouts, you used an email address for activation that you may be trying to use for your new personal account. While Square allows its users to have as many accounts as they like, we do require that a separate email address be used for each account.
It sounds like this may be the issue you are running into. More on this here.
In regards to free-processing credit, we offer a referral bonus to those who refer another user to Square. This credit would not apply to users who already have a previous account with Square.
Let us know if anything else comes up! We are here to assist.

Thanks Joe! Follow up questions: so even though this account was not my account (it was the Troop’s account) it still counts as my account, therefore, I can not get a new account bonus? Secondly, can I delete the Girl Scout bank account? I dint want to have it associated in any way with my personal account as that can lead to appearances of impropriety. I did try to use a separate email but it told me my info was already associated with another account. Thank you.

Thanks for the quick response, @Kjkmom!
Each Square account is associated with an individuals SSN, even if it is a larger organization that has since registered the account to EIN or TIN. This links each account to an individual, meaning that if your Girl Scout account was activated by you, this would be considered your first Square account which would disqualify you from the referral bonus.
I hope that makes sense!
In regards to the bank account, yes! You can remove your attached bank account at any time.
If you'd like to free up an email address that you'd like to use with a separate account, you can do so by reaching out to our Support Team directly. They can insure it gets freed up for you to use going forward.

Thank you, Joe. I’m bummed about the account bonus since U never got to take advantage of it but so he it. I will reach out to have my email address disassociated with the Troop account; as I said I don’t want any propriety questions (from the Girl Scouts).
