Fundraising via tagged sales

Hi, I'm not sure if this is even possible.... I want to be able to offer a "code" or "Tag" to a group of customers so that when they purchase through my web shop I can identify them and calculate the total amount purchased by that group so that I can give a percentage of total sales to a charity.

I am not wanting to offer them a discount as such, as they will pay the full price, but I will give a percentage of the full price to the charity. I'm hoping I can offer sales to my son's school community to help raise funds for the parents association. But I would like it to be easy to administer. Any options?? Thanks in advance, Sara

Hi @MYFLOWERPATCH, thanks for reaching out! Aside from applying a £0.00 discount code so that the sale will have that tag, another workaround would be to create a special item on your website that included the charity name. That way, you can track how many of that item has sold.

I hope this will help!

Thank you @tranguyen I can't create a special item as I want the offer to apply to the whole website. But I think the £0.00 discount could work. I will have a look at that option. Thank you.

Ah, apology for that @MYFLOWERPATCH, I thought you only need the code for one item only. I'm double-checking on my end here and it looks like a coupon will require a value great than 0.

In this case, another workaround is making a modifier named "Make a donation" or something a long those line. For ease, you can create this modifier from your Square Dashboard and apply it to all items on your site.

Once that has been created, you can click Apply to Items > Select All.

Once that's done, when you go to your Online site and click into any items, you'll see the modifiers in the list.If you click Modifier settings (the cog symbol), you'll be able to tick Make Default so this option will be pre-selected for customers.

This is not as straight forward as the coupon workaround, but it should help track how many times the modifiers were applied. I'll have another look on my end and see if there is any other workaround as well.
