Chip cards can be read on swiper readers, but it is advisable to use a chip reader at all times to prevent any chargebacks from occurring due to the Liability shift. any chip card accepted via swipe most likely will automatically be found in the favor of the customer due to the chip not being read as the most secure way to do a transaction. read more about the liability shift here. https://squareup.com/emv-liability-shift
