Choose business location displayed in a Customer Direct Message conversation

I'm starting to use the send customer message feature (i.e. customer directory, 3 dots, send message).

When the customer gets, the email, my business name correctly displays at the top of the email.

The issue is that, when the customer clicks on "reply" the conversation defaults to a specific location (not the location to which the customer is located, btw). It says:

Your conversation with Attune Home - Utah

How does square determine which location is displayed? I would prefer it to just list the business name. If that's not possible, how do I update the location for a given conversation?

I've been on the phone with the support team today and they don't have an answer yet; however, we did notice that the location is appearing to be defaulting to the most newly created location on the account.

The current workaround for me is to create a new dummy location that doesn't have any services/items, team members, or business hours. It only has my business name. This new dummy location is now the default location for direct message conversations. I'm content for the time being.

Hey @AttuneHome,

Have you checked under > Account & Settings to on the Dashboard to see if your location is correct?

You can view it under > Receipts and Locations to make sure it's correct on there and that should be what's shown on that message.

Thanks for the try. I have two locations and have changed it to the TX location everywhere I can; however, the direct message conversation continues to say "Utah". I can't really use the feature until I get this figured out.

I would try giving our direct CS team a call as your next step.

There might be another tip they can offer or pass it up as an issue with the new feature if need be.
