Can I turn off the background graphic in my "theme"?

I want a plan page website on which I can apply text and upload photos, with no theme showing in the back ground.  I do not know how to do any coding, so it would need to be easy and automatic.  Is this possible or do I need to find a different website host?

What theme are you using?  What is showing in the background? can you post a screenshot for us?
