Does the mag swipe card reader only limited to a $100 just like the square?

Are the options for swiping a higher amount on a credit card only limited to $100? Or can the reader take more than the square? I provide a service (PMU) that is more than the $100 limit per transaction. I would greatly appreciate if I have any other options if I were to go through purchasing one. Thank you!

Hi @Sandaaungf - Credit cards have a per transaction limit of $50,000 regardless of the reader you are using. The $100 transaction limit applies to Interact debit cards which can only be accepted via tap method with the Contactless + Chip Reader.

Okay that’s more clear. So people who have transactions higher than $100 are only limited to the mag swipe reader?

Sorry for the confusion. You can use any reader for credit card transactions over $100. You are limited to using the Contactless + Chip Reader if you plan to accept debit cards.

Okay so for the square you CAN actually tap more than a $100? As long as it’s a credit card? The $100 limit is only for debit amounts?
