SQUARE APPOINTMENTS FROM LAPTOP, CHECKING OUT WITH SQUARE TERMINAL!
I have ordered the square terminal 4 months ago, and have been starting to test it out after years of running square for my repair shop. I have been using my laptop for setting all appointments and everything else while using square, and checking out through my phone while using the square card reader for appointment payments, over the years, and checking out through my phone for payments, while using the appointments app on my laptop.
It seems customers are unsure of punching in their pins now a days on a phone.
I started the square terminal, now that season has picked up.
It seems that setting all of my appointments with service items in the calendar on my laptop is not compatible, with the square terminal on check out. I am now past the deadline to return the square terminal.
It looks like everything has to be converted over to invoicing now, that the appointments calendar is not able to work with square terminal, unless there is a back door solution to get it to work.
Their is a fix but it sounds like you need to buy a square register or ipad in order for this to work, which will not work for my situation, as I need my laptop for service manuals & labour rates along with other programs is needed.
I am not sure why square does not state this, before buying the square terminal and it seems I am not the only one having this problem on the reads, I have now read.
It would be nice to see this problem resolved this year by Square.
While I do not have a specific date, I can confirm that bringing Square Appointments to the Square terminal is in our Roadmap @adkservices. I will make sure to pass your feedback over to our Product Team for their visibility and consideration.

I have the exact input as you have stated. I am a booth renter hairstylist and moved from the chip reader to the terminal, I use Appointments and what I do now is enable the 'open tickets' function on checkout settings. Then go to the checkout tab on your phone/device and you will see 'Appointments' in the top tab selections. You can then select your appointments to convert to a ticket, which will now be accessible from the terminal as an open ticket ๐
The only thing I have yet to figure out a work around with is how to close out the appointments next, which *should* be automatic if the ticket created had been cashed out. But anyway, looks like we might not have to do all of this extra tasks in the near future!

*edit: I read your post again and I see that you use the Square Appointments from the Dashboard ๐ I don't think my suggestion would be helpful, as Dashboard functions are AGAIN so different from the other square apps.

this is ridiculous! The square systems should all be married and all work together. I just purchased the terminal and am VERY angry that it does not connect to the square appointment app. I did not have $300+ to waste on this. Very Very angry! I am not sure hoe I would go about making a complaint.
