Manual IP network settings

Hi folks, 

 

I have a network where IP addresses, subnet masks, DNS servers are all manually configured and not DHCP assigned. 

 

I do not have the ability to change these settings for security reasons. 

 

I can see that I can assign it for a hardwired ethernet connection, but not for wireless.  

 

Every time I connect one of my android devices, I am able to connect to the network, and then edit the connection details, but the Square terminal just times out. 

 

Any help is appreciated.

Hi @anubis-of-Q 👋 sorry to hear you're having some trouble with your Terminal. 

 

Let's first run through some troubleshooting for the device itself rather than the network. 

 

Can you run through the following steps and let me know if the issue persists? 

 

Make sure your Square Terminal has the latest software. To update your Square Terminal software, tap ≡More > Settings > Hardware. Tap General > About Terminal > Software Update or Install Now.

 

Then reset your Square Terminal. Resetting your Terminal will require you to reconnect to your network, accessories and Square account – so make sure you have your account login information, accessory settings and Wi-Fi network name and password close by.

To reset your Square Terminal:

  1. If you have taken any offline transactions, be sure to reconnect to the internet and process them before proceeding. Pending offline payments will be permanently lost and the funds won’t be captured when you reset your device.
  2. Tap ≡More.
  3. Select Settings > Hardware > General > About Terminal.
  4. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and tap Factory Reset > Confirm Factory Reset.
  5. Tap Reset one last time. From here, the countdown will begin and your Terminal will reset.
