I would really like to use Square for our little shop but I am having trouble getting my head around the EAN-13 vs UPC-A. We currently use the European Standard barcode EAN-13 (13-digit barcode) on our printed packaging around 300 products and would prefer not to change artwork or over label barcodes. Reading the app support documentation, I need to enter the barcode in the SKU field of the item, however this field is restricted to the 12-digit UPC-A code. I was looking to us the Socket CHS 7Ci, most scanners have a conversion to take a 13-digit barcode to 12 digit which would help overcome the problem, but the socket doesn't seem to allow this (usuually there is a series of barcodes to scan to set up the scanner).
Anybody know how we can get our EAN13 barcodes to work with Square?
