online booking and payment

When a customer books online and enters their card info for payment when is the charge processed. Do I have to check them out at the time of their visit for the payment to be processed. Is the payment processed at the time of booking? Is it held until their visit?

Hi @pwilz - Are you using Square Appointments? If so, you have the option to do pre-payment in full which will charge the card when the transaction is initially entered (I'm assuming on your booking site) or at the completion of the service when you take the credit card info. Does that answer your question?
