error when adding inventory and out of stock
I have been playing around with my store trying to learn it (I am un tech savvy..... very UN tech-savvy) And I thought I was getting it, however making my 'test item' I am having trouble getting my stock/inventory updated. It keeps giving me an error. The item is entered correctly, however I think I may have clicked something on the location a while ago that deactivated it? or something like that and now I can't figure out how to get back there to look.
I go to add my inventory and it says an error occurred after I hit save. It doesn't say anything other then that. I only have one location added it that helps?
EDIT: I found out I needed a SKU and it saved my inventory, however when you go to my online store, it says 'out of stock' even though I added stock. Any input to what It might be?

HI, sometimes things can be tricky regarding inventory. Can you please share a screenshot or Link? and description of what type of inventory you are trying to add?

Of course! so when I make an item and add inventory under the ITEM tab, it will show the inventory available, but when I go to ONLINE tab, it will show no inventory. Also, when you go to my online store, it will show the items, but say OUT OF STOCK in red.

Also to add, I just saw under my item in the inventory area, under my store name, it says 'unknown'. Does this mean anything?

HI, you can check a couple of places to see what may be the issue.
Is Pickup & Delivery properly setup?
Online Dashboard, Settings, Pickup & Delivery, upper right Advanced Settings, Default Fulfillment Method
Does each item correctly state its fulfillment method?
Checkout Fulfillment Method properly setup?
Online Dashboard, Settings, Checkout, upper right Advanced Settings, scroll down to Default Fulfillment Method
I do see that you are on the Menu Format template, you can change to Retail Format and see if that works.
Under your business name should state your Shipping or Pickup/Delivery as an active store. Status Unknown should not display.

Hm.. I'm not familiar with that message. Can you post a screenshot where you are seeing this? Is it showing up on the Square dashboard, or the Square Online (ecom) dashboard?

So I figured this out. You have to go to your Square Online and select fulfillment. Under the fulfillment method, make sure each one is established. For instance, I had my items set to "Pickup" but I didn't set up the Pickup and Deliver fulfillment option on the website. Once I selected "pickup & delivery" on the far right, I hit the button to set up the pickup for my business location.
After I did this, my inventory showed correctly on my website.
