What are you most thankful for as a business owner?

With the holiday season coming up we’d love to hear from you, our community, about what makes you thankful as a business owner. It can be anything from being able to set your own hours, to accomplishing a life-long goal of being a business owner, and everything in between!

As a small business owner, I’m incredibly thankful for the customer relationships I get to build. When my customers come into my store, I get to see how happy they are when they taste the ice cream I’ve worked so hard to make, which makes everything worth it. I get to know them and their stories, and they get to know mine, which is so incredibly rewarding and really makes me feel like part of our amazing neighborhood community.

There are two major things that I appreciate in my business.  I appreciate being my own boss.  Once you experience it, it is hard to go back and work for someone else.  I also appreciate having very flexible hours.  This isn't always the case as a business owner, but my situation is unique. I run the business side of our catering business and am able to work from home a lot of the time.  We previously owned coffee houses. Since we switched (and no longer have a store front), I am no longer tethered to the shop.  Being the owner (as most of you know) also comes with a ton of responsibilty.  You are where the buck stops.
