Square scheduling experience?

I used Genbook for 7 years and loved the whole platform; I am a bridal seamstress and do not operate like most salons (bridal gown sales, hair salons, etc)., so there are features such as marketing (i do that via exclusive bridal platforms), reviews (same)  and prompting return clients (brides aren't return clients by nature) that I will never use--I just loved the ability to have clients schedule independently, as well as automated email reminders. Genbook has merged with Booksy and it has been a nightmare (for me).  Can anyone here weigh in on the scheduling and client management (to a lesser degree ) software?

Hey @KJBridal,

Thanks for getting in touch with us in the Seller Community - it's always great to see a new face here 👋

It sounds like there's some similarities between Square Appointments and the system you previously used, such as automatic reminders and online scheduling. With Appointments, you'll be able to create services your clients can book via a website, and you can also book in appointments manually from your end. There's also the option to require pre-payment for appointments, set up a no-show policy, and specify when reminders get sent out.

For a single staff member, Square Appointments is free, so if only you're taking appointments, no subscription would be required. Take a look at the overview page here for some info and let us know if you have any other questions around Appointments 🙂

We use the appointments for our service offerings at our retail shop (tarot readings, astrology, etc) and have the integration on our website for client to book on their own. We also have an iPad at the register so we can take appointments over the phone. It's been a game changer for us and we really love the ease of use.
