Should I create a new Square account for my new business? Can I use the same email address?
[The title of this thread has been edited from the original: Deactivate old account or edit?]
So I had square set up with an old business I was doing, had a different bank account, stuff like that... I'm wondering if I should deactivate it and start a new account up for my new business, or just edit my square info with my new info... Stupid question maybe... But idk. Please help 🙂

Not a stupid question @Matteezy! 😀
If it's an entirely new business that you're going to be operating, I'd probably create a brand new account to use. You'll just need a different email address from the one you used on your older account when you sign up this time around. You can also use the same bank account if you want!
Come on back if you think of any other questions!

And can I change an email address later on? Because I am currently in the process of getting a website put together and will have a different email address soon as that gets going...

@Matteezy If you need/want to use the same email address for your new account, you'll want to give our CS team a call. They'll be able to change some things around so that you can use the original email on your new account if that's what you want to do! We're not able to use the same email address for multiple accounts.

How about you change the email address on the account you're going to be deactivating, then use the old email address on the new account?

Hey @Matteezy-
I think @GlassJudy has the best option here. This way you can create the new account using your old email address. On the account you're deactivating, we'll just go ahead and remove the existing email address. This would only be an issue if you still will need access to that account or data.
Regardless, I would suggest giving our Support Team a call to sort this out.

I've decided I'm going to be buying a domain right now to create a website for my business.. and I'm gonna make an email address on there... And use that for square. Seems like a good idea to me.

Either way you do this, though, you will need at least one more email address anyway. The way I suggested doesn’t actually increase the number of email accounts you’ll have to have in order to solve your problem

Hi @DeniseR and welcome to the Community.
I moved your post to an existing thread that answers this question.
You will want to create a new account for a new business as you cannot run two different businesses on one account with us.
