Salons & Service Industry: How do you schedule parties at your business?
I own a nail salon and I'm curious how other businesses go about scheduling parties.
What kind of information do you ask for when a client wants to schedule a party?
We ask for:
- Name, phone number, email
- 3 possible days and timeframes for the party
- Number of guests
What other information would you ask for?
- The service(s) for each guest?
Other related questions:
- How do you feel about rescheduling standing appointments?
- Do you ask for gratuity in advance?
Please add any other tips for scheduling parties! I'd really appreciate it 🙂

We ask for the same plus a credit card and deposit 50% at booking then the remainder is due 72 hours before the event. All extras from the night are then charged before the client leaves.

Allergies
I do facials so I send forms prior to the event so I have all the info I need to perform the facial.
Other related questions:

- I reschedule and explain we are closing early that day for a private event. All of my regulars get it and are totally understanding. BUT, I don't allow people to book parties with less than two weeks notice. That way I know they are serious and I have plenty of time to reach out to regulars and move things around.
- Do you ask for gratuity in advance?
- YES! They can always tip more but if we are blocking off a chunk of time for an event then I add 22%.
