Remembering Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Each year on the third Monday in January, we take time to reflect on the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and his legacy. One way we can honor the memory of Dr. King is through acts of service in our communities.

If you're interested in volunteering time in honor of Dr. King on Monday - or any day - here are some resources to help you find events and opportunities in your area:

• The AmeriCorps website offers several ways to get involved and a list of resources and project ideas.
• On Martin Luther King Day, the National Park Service waives entrance fees for all national parks that charge for entry. They also have a list of related events categorized by region, a searchable events calendar, and a volunteer resource page.
• If you can't volunteer in person but still want to get involved, check out these remote volunteer options.

Appreciate your post!  Our nonprofit is a year-round ministry that serves the underprivileged, the homeless and those in poverty.  We are 99% volunteer based, so we value and treasure EVERY volunteer, one of our most valued assets.

This MLK day, we are blessed to have a local bank branch serve in our nonprofit for their day of service!  They are swapping their business suits for their sweat suits...their dress shoes for tennis shoes and will be working alongside us sorting tons of donations.

We appreciate Dr. Martin Luther King, pause to remember him and all he stood for.  His voice still speaks loud and clear.  Our prayer is that people will pause and listen, then...THEN, get involved in serving others.

Is the square bank doesn’t deposit payments coz of MLK day? The reason i ask i did service for two days and those payments never deposited to my square account.
