Label Printing: Wrap option

Hey team

I would like to wrap the item name for when I print labels. Currently the text is cut off and only brand name is showing.

Is there a way to wrap the item name when printing labels?

Thank you!

Hi @SarahMarsh thanks for reaching out!

Can I clarify, do you mean printing order labels?

If so, there isn't currently an option to edit the way in which specific information is printed on order labels. It's worth checking first to see if switching to the 'compact ticket' setting makes a difference here.

1. On the Square app, tap More > Settings.
2. Tap Hardware > Printers > select your printer station.
3. Under the section Use this printer for, select In-person order tickets.
4. Turn on Compact tickets.

If your compatible Label Printer supports multiple paper roll sizes, you can use the following printer paper widths: 40mm, 58mm, or 80mm (default).
Note: Changing paper widths from the 80mm width default may cause damage to your printer. You can view the steps on changing paper size here: https://squ.re/3wvg8jD

Let us know how you go!

Hey @SarahMarsh,

At the moment Square's Point of Sale apps are not available for desktop computers - while you can use the Square Dashboard to manage your Square account from a web browser on a computer, and do things like look at your transaction history, manage your customer directory, send customer invoices and more, it doesn't feature the same sort of Point of Sale features are our Point of Sale apps do - this includes the ability to print labels.

If you're able to show us a screenshot of where you're trying to do this on the Dashboard we'd be happy to take a further look, however Square Dashboard doesn't presently have any specific printing features, outside of what your desktop web browser is able to do.

@SarahMarsh My bad - this looks like a relatively new feature for Square for Retail, thanks for brining that to my attention. I did manage to find some resources on using this here.

If you're not able to get things working as intended, your best port of call will be with our technical support team - you can call support on 1800 760 137 (Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm Melbourne time), or contact us via online chat or email:

1. Sign in to your Square account

2. Head to our contact page https://squareup.com/help/au/en/contact

3. Click on any topic, then "I don't see my issue"

4. Click "Message us" or "Email us"

Or, if you see the new chatbot help flow, type "support" to bring up a list of contact methods.

This is just steps on printing. We have been using the printer in this way Since September last year. The question is on wrapping so the text is not cut off. Are there any resources on wrapping text on 2 lines? Thank you

Hi @SarahMarsh, just jumping back in here!

We don't have any other workarounds or resources to share here other than what I've already sent in my previous response. At this point, we suggest reaching out directly to our support team who will be able to run you through available options in greater detail (contact information above).
