Is My Square Data Available for External Reporting?
Not sure which forum to post this to, so I just picked General Discussion. The question is whether or not my Square data is available for external reporting. I find that the reporting in Square, while decent, is lacking in a lot of respects - plus I would like to be able to combine my Square data with other data I have from other systems (like Quick Books) to get a more complete picture of our business operations. I come from a data warehousing and reporting background, so this would be second nature to me - IF I had access to the data we have in Square. Is there an API that provides access to the data stored by Square? Everything from sales transactions to items to timecards to customers would be great. I'd want to automate the extraction/export of our data as much as possible, so the current ability to manually export some things doesn't really help...
Thanks for any info!

yes, your sales, transactions, customers, items, deposits, and more are all exportable to a spreadsheet application for further analysis. we use the export feature all the time to drill down to the exact right data we want.
there is an export button (some pages it is an action button) in the top right of most of the tabs in your dashboard. https://squareup.com/dashboard/items/library

Thanks, but the current export options aren't really good enough for what I'm looking for. There's no real way to automate that. Are there any API's or other options for getting data out of Square?

Hey @davefackler. You can use Square's APIs to get more information! To get started head to the Square site: Get Started with Square APIs. If you have any specific questions let me know or head to the Developer Community Stack Overflow.

Your “Get Started with Square API’s” link is a dead 404: Page not found.
I still find no reference to how to automate extraction of Square’s reports into a smarter analytics platform.
