Square Appointments Plans
Hi there
I’m a Sole Trader, Single Mom with small children. When you restructured your Plans for Square Appointments, somehow you failed to take this group of people into account. Losing access to Google Sync has crippled my ability to effectively manage both my business and my family, kids' appointments, kids' activities, etc.
Whilst I’m understanding of your desire to be more profitable, don’t we all want that? I think removing the google sync from the free plan was uncalled-for. Unfairly victimising the people who need that feature the most.
Perhaps the following suggestion could be submitted to the appropriate people as a jump from free to $40 is unmanageable for people in my situation.
A suggestion of restructuring
Free Plan:
Processing Rate
2% Credit Card Transaction withstand or reader
1.8% Credit Card Transaction with Register
Scheduling
REMOVE multiple time zones
Then there should be a Basic Plan, which is a step up from Free, average price point of $10 to $15 per month.
Basic Plan
Processing Rate
1.9% Credit Card Transaction with stand or reader
1.6% Credit Card Transaction with Register
Scheduling
Multiple Time Zones
Some way to mark off clean up and prep for the next client if there isn’t already one, or Processing Time
Google Sync
Daily Appointment Limit
Alternatively a small $2-$5 monthly fee for access to selected missing options between Free and Plus. If you charge $5 for each missing option from scheduling on the Free plan, then that gives you $40 and you’re on the Plus plan. However, this allows people to customise their software, which would make for a much happier consumer base. I personally wouldn’t mind paying $5/month for a couple of extras to the Free Plan, eg Google Sync and Daily Appointment Limit.

a confirmation message should also be offered in the free features! I run my own small business with no other employees and have no need for the paid features! I am extremely disappointed that this isn't a basic free feature for the small businesses!
Thank you for sharing this feedback about the Square Appointments pricing changes, @shauna1990. I understand that changes like these can be daunting, and frustrating as a small business owner. I've merged your post to this thread so we can collect your feedback and concerns in one place.

Completely agree,
A jump from $0 to $40 is crazy just for confirmation messages, even having a small fee per TXT message sent on the free plan would be a better option.
For $40 I would expect to get both the appointments and a custom domain for the online module, or better inventory tracking/management.
With all of the square add-ons now available separately we are really getting nickel and dimed, really losing touch with the grass roots that square came from, sad
Just posted about this! Completely agree. Unfortunately square still doesn’t seem to care about this. Competitors offer google cal sync on their free subscriptions so I think this is really a huge blunder by square dev to not have this as an add on or a more affordable subscription between $0 & $40 🤯

Completely agree.
The jump in pricing is quite big for a small business.
We are a regional dog grooming business so we do 2-3 days over 2 locations but the jump just to add locations is too much. Yes its called the "free plan" but its not, Square still take a marked up % on fees which im ok with as I can absorb that alot easier.

Hi there @BTails,
We're so sorry to hear you feel this way and appreciate you taking the time to add your thoughts and feedback about the Appointments repricing.
While I don't have any news to share regarding further updates to the current pricing, we'll continue to pass on the feedback we receive here directly to our Appointments Team.
