I received an email about my password expiring. Is it genuine?

Title says it all really. 

I have received an email telling me to update my password as it expirers. I have just tried to login to Square and it it saying my password needs updating, and it sends me an email link to update the password. 

Is that seriously how passwords are updated as it seems very bad and could be a phishing email

You're right to be cautious with these types of emails - can you share the email address it was sent from? That way I can confirm if it came from Square - it likely did as we do send similar emails occasionally for your account safety. Thanks
