How is the square register working for everyone with an online store?

I'm considering upgrading to the square register from the ipad.  I've been having an issue with the mobile scanner no longer connecting to the bluetooth! I was told by customer service this was an app update, or I possibly need a new mobile scanner!  Any feedback on the square register would be great before I make this purchase.

We upgraded to the Square Register earlier this year and use it as our primary register with 2 IOS registers as back up. I do like it better as I think it presents a better "look" to the customer and they can see their items on the front facing display. There are some things in the Square App that are not 100% available in the Square for Retail app on the register, but for us, we still think the Square for Retail app on the Register is the best choice. We also changed over to a corded scanner because after a few $200-300 bluetooth scanners that shot craps, I was done shelling out the money. We bought a corded scanner ($70 each on Amazon) for our iPad Square stand and one for the Square Register. They both plus right into the boxy thing that gets plugged into the power box (very technical I know). They work great and they never go missing!

I totally forgot to talk about the online part. Works great... the orders have their own spot on the navigation bar in the Square Register and if you get your settings right you can get notifications too.

Yup - Plastic & eGift Cards both work with Square register! The customer facing display piece has a card swiper, chip reader and NFC Tap reader all built in!
