Why won’t my square work all the sudden.  Everything worked fine yesterday now all the sudden my Mac strip reader won’t read in my chip reader won’t read The only thing that works is if I type in the numbers

Well, there are a lot of variables and not enough here to answer fully.

What device are you using?

what chip reader are you using?

Is the mag stripe reader the free one or one that is built into the chip reader that plugs into the headphone jack?

I just got Motorola Z3 I tried to use the Magnastrip reader with the headphone adapter and couldn't get it to work. Any suggestions?

I was sent one of those little SQUARE readers, that you plug into the top of your phone, but it doesn't work and I am being forced to type ineverything?? HELP!!!!

Hey there! Sorry you are having issues with your reader.

A few quick questions to get started:

• What kind of phone are you using? 
• Did you enable your microphone settings so that we can have access to that port?
• Did you uninstall and reinstall the App? Sometimes that can help as well.
