I just implement several conditional discounts for our bakery. It has simplified the checkout process, increased efficiency and accuracy. It also shows clearly on the front screen and receipt of the customers. The only improvement I would like is a way to change it so it does not show up as a difference between gross sales and net sales. I am using it as a price drop (not a discount) as quantities increase.
How I have it implemented:
It automatically applies a discount (10 cents/donut) when someone orders a half dozen donuts. Then a second discount (15cents/donut) automatically takes over when some one orders a dozen.
One of the best parts of the implementation is customers can mix different items and variations to reach a half dozen/dozen. The discount is properly applied!
