Hi!

 

This is Aaron, co-owner of River Maiden. We are a coffeehouse/cafe in Vancouver, WA. We've been using Square for ~10 years.

 

I joined the community to stay up-to-date with the latest changes to the marketplace and how Square's products respond to those changes.

 

The biggest items on River Maiden's wishlist would be

+ Ability to connect our Square Point of Sale to customer facing menus. This would be a great way to maintain accurate pricing and have a professional display. Any changes we made on the dashboard would instantly -and stylishly- be updated to our customers with our menu displays.

+ Dynamic Pricing. Having to ability to change prices throughout the day to respond to supply and demand using algorithms.

+ Algorithmic sales forecasting. Square has access to all our sales data for the last 10 years. It'd be nice to run that through software that would predict tomorrow's sales. You'd look to see a seven day forecast -- just like the weather. Based on items, day of the week, weather conditions, etc. It'd say ... Sales are predicted to be $1,700-$1,900. You'll likely sell 20-30 maple bars, 47 lattes, etc.

I joined the Seller Community originally for technical support and questions and now have enjoyed it as a community for new Square products and business ideas.

I'm Eric Whitney in Santa Barbara, CA.  I am a maker and seller of Chainmaille Jewelry at Arts & Crafts Shows and for the past 2 years I have also been online selling Chainmaille Supplies to other chainmaille makers.  I have mobile Retail sales needs for Square as well as Online sales needs for both Retail and Wholesale.  I'm always looking to share my wants and needs in the community and occasionally solve problems through sharing and interaction with other users.

I find that it is the easiest and most seamless system out there. I am in the seller community because i wish to learn more ways to benefit my clients from a business and consumer prospective.

What I would love to see from the Seller Community is an ongoing thread of ideas and thoughts from similar businesses on how to improve. I would love to see things like marketing strategies that had the best outcome, emails that returned the most open rate and engagement, where you found your new clients for the month, etc. I feel like we are all in this together and it we can all help each other grow!

Hello from Texas!!! I'm the owner of Unkom Enterprises, LLC, a free lance writer and notary. We had to do massive pivots during the past 2 years and using the seller community has really helped in the changes. However, I would have loved to see a supportive space where business owners can come and just talk about their business and the ups and downs. I feel that would definitely build the community but also more business owners confidence.

Hello! My name is Leanna and I'm the owner of Mobile Kneads Massage. I have been in business about a year and a half, and even though I have been with Square since the beginning, I'm just recently beginning to utilize the tools that Square has to offer! I wish I wouldn't have waited so long,  lol!

Hey!  I'm Nytasha, owner of Selfie WRLD NoVA DC, a DIY photography studio located in Tysons Corner Center, in Northern Virginia. Selfie WRLD NoVA DC opened in June 2021 and I've been using Square since.  I've actually expanded my use of Square as my business  has grown.

 

Now in month 7, I am preparing to open a second studio location in the suburbs of Atlanta, GA.  This studio is located at the Mall of Georgia, and the grand opening is set for February 5th.  Also, I recently purchased a third Selfie WRLD studio, already in operation - this one is located in Va Beach, Virginia and I assume ownership on February 1st.  

 

I  must say that I decided to utilize Square by way of the Selfie WRLD franchise - all locations use Square.  I utilize Square POS, we use the Square register, I use Square payroll and I began to use the marketing tools for the holiday season.  I LOVE how Square syncs many things that help to make my life as an entrepreneur and business owner much more organized.  The online ticketing system I use syncs well with Square.  I also use invoices quite a bit for special events and bookings - so I've really utilized Invoices. And, Square really made year end closing (taxes) a breeze!

 

I do not interact as much with the community as I'd like to, especially to pay it forward and share advice with fellow business owners.  I do, however, find that the community is super helpful when I need a question answered.  I remember when I first started out with the business, and I needed to set up Tips for my employees.  The community was an easily accessible resource and I was able to find the answer and set up Tips, easily.

I Recently started my own product line (ARThentic Touch) www.barthenticity.com and use Square as my method of payment as well as record keeping. It also helps make my product more accessible for all. What I would like to see in the Sellers Community is a place for updated video links for people to learn about how to do the normal business things.  Such as a video demonstrating how to print bar code or QR codes from Square.  The sellers community is full of these questions why not do short videos how to do these things for businesses that use Square.  Square does have videos and training on YouTube but some of those videos do not pertain to the software updates since the videos came out.  Like my Sales Details Download I just did today has a new column Price Point Name column, don't know when that was added.  Would be nice for a Price per Item column too.  Shows 2 items sold for $6.00  but they are only $3.00 items.  Why not add that column too?  The terminology has changed, Square Capitol has Changed to Square Loans for example.  When a new update or change to terminology comes into effect Square should have a section just for these videos of how to use, setup and navigate through Square with the newest terms used in the Square Software devices.  Not everyone here knows of the Square YouTube channel and most of it is advertising on the YouTube channel for Square to get new business, which is why I suggest having on this platform and are that shows people how to fix, trouble shoot or just plain how to use your products.  Like the short video setting up a Square Register, that was nice but why not go through adding the peripherals that you also sell?  Take the Square approved devices and demonstrate connecting each one to each Square item.  How to connect receipt and barcode printers to your Hardware and which ones they work with.

I have found many things that is an great asset for my company within one company. I have joined Square Seller to learn more about the software and how to do trouble shooting. Hi, I'm Gabriel. I'm am attempting to launch my business (state registration issues popping up 4 months later) and I've really liked what square has to offer. I don't think anyone thinks that square isn't great. However, I have read many, many posts and comments of how big ticket revenues are constantly kept in limbo or accounts shut down for no reason after a big deposit. I think square's image would definitely receive a boost if they were to clarify if they are a service for all sorts of sole proprietors OR to make known that they are a service for small time independent contractors.

The appointment booking system with payment is a must for service-oriented businesses. All in one place! Plus the messaging system allows customers to ask questions within the app!
