Fees and coronavirus

During COVID-19, many independent practitioners who use Square will be using Telehealth as to not disrupt access to healthcare.  In doing this however, our rates will increase as we need to manually enter credit card numbers as there will be no card to swipe.  Square needs to wave increase in fees from swiping to entering manually during the pandemic to help small businesses.

Yes! How can we get this message heard? I have to start doing therapy sessions with video and I am not doing it by choice. If manual entry could be the same as swipe during this time, that would be so much better.

I completely agree! I just went through the entire website to see if there was a way we could change our point of sale to reflect the current situation and it doesn't exist!! Please Square Corporate support your Healthcare customers by waiving this fee increase as we try to keep our patients safe and businesses afloat!

I am a tax preparer and this is a big issue for us right now. We are doing returns, but not allowing clients to come into the office. In order to take credit cards, we have to manually enter them. Square needs to do something about this additional fee for manual entry. If not, I will just have clients pay by check or cash. It would be in Squares best interest to make this change.
