Customer display on Square app (SalesVu)

Hi

 

I just see SalesVu provides a “Customer Display” for Square stand, so customer can have a separate screen in front of them to sign and tip.  I think this is a good idea especially during the COVID-19  pandemic.

My question is that: I was wondering if Square app (for iPad) provides similar function for customer display.  I know there is Square Register that has this function but I just upgraded to a new iPad, and a Square stand.  It would be convenient and more cost effective if I can use another iPad or iPad mini as a customer display.

Welcome to the Seller Community! It would be great to have the ability to connect a Customer display to a Square stand. However, we don't have the ability to do this at this time. If your interested in upgrading to the Square Register we offer great financing options.

Thank you for your reply.  Getting a Square Register would be my last choice.  As I mentioned earlier, I just upgraded to a new iPad and new Square Stand.  My business has been closed since March 21st.  A customer display function on the Square app will be very helpful when we reopen as I have extra iPad mini sit there.

 

Actually, I just found out Square Point of Sale app provides the function of customer-facing display by using another iPad mini or iPod as mentioned in this page:

However, I can't find this function in my Square POS app.

This a great article. However, it's very outdated and not highly recommended. Your welcome to try it. When it comes to finding the function in your app, you may need the second iPad to find the setting. I would also suggest making sure your hardware and Square App is up to date.

 

If you try this workaround, we would love to hear your feedback on your experience.
