Can you use a card reader for online store?

I want to sell at a craft fair, but have an online store, not a retail store. Can I use a card reader with my online store for checkout?

Square Online is designed for your customers to visit a landing page and order themselves. Readers cannot be used to take payments with your site. 

You need a mobile device with thePOS app downloaded to process payments using a reader.
