Can international customers checkout with Afterpay on Australian Square Online sites?

I have shippo and my afterpay works in Australia. I've changed the shipping availability to the countries it says to but my nz customers still can't use afterpay on my site

You've raised a great question here!

I dug a little deeper into this and found that Afterpay supports the ability for customers to use Afterpay to order from another country. With this being said, the Afterpay and Square integration is currently only available with Square Online sites. We're unable to confirm the availability of Afterpay if you are using a third-party platform to host your site.

Are you able to include your site URL in your reply so I can take a closer look?

If your Square Online site is preventing NZ customers from selecting the Afterpay option, this is something I'd need to run by our Square Online team for further review.

While we wait, have there been any changes here for your NZ customers or are they still unable to see the Afterpay option?

I appreciate your patience while I awaited an answer on this topic!

I can now confirm that cross-border transactions with Afterpay are not currently supported, meaning only Australian customers can checkout using Afterpay when visiting an Australia Square Online site.

Some countries outside Australia may see Afterpay as an option when checking out. Still, when attempting to use it, they'll receive an error message saying, "Sorry, Afterpay is not available for this retailer's site in your country".

We're working with Afterpay to expand availability in future. Once we have more information to share on this, we'll be sure to make a formal announcement via the Seller Community.

Hi has there been any update on this? I am based in Australia but my customers are predominantly nz based. Is there anyway of offering a buy now pay later service for them as it is costing me a lot of sales

Excellent I would like this option too as I have many worldwide clients and I'm losing sales with this with Square let me know when it's updated then can you be used
