Can I take a magstripe reader I used with my android and use it it an Ipad?

I just found out that my Android device is too old to use again.  Can I take my magstripe reader used in that device and use it in an Ipad?

Hey there!! Thanks for asking. Yes, any reader you are using on an Android device can also be used for an iOS/Apple device. Of course, make sure that all of your devices are running the newest software as that can be a factor when working between software versions.

Note: iPad 2 and iPad (3rd generation) do not support iOS 11, the latest version of Apple’s mobile operating system. The Square Point of Sale app requires the latest version of iOS to run smoothly, and these two devices are unable to upgrade to the latest versions.
