Beta Team, back again! 🤣
With this alpha feature, you'll be able to create schedules for your employees directly in Square Dashboard. A true one stop shop for employee management (and an often requested feature)!
So, if you have team members logging/clocking into your POS or Square Dashboard, and would like to hear more about this Alpha program, please reply to this thread and we'll reach out with the next steps. This alpha should be kicking off really soon, so be sure to get in on this before the rest of the world.

This sounds interesting, but before I take the leap, I have a few questions about this. It may be that I sit this one out until its in the beta form?
-How does the new scheduler handle multiple locations/accidental double-booking of staff (scheduled in one location, try to schedule same team member at the same time in second location)?
-One of the beauties of the Homebase app is the on-the-fly reporting. We open the app and see a instant glance at labor percentage (albeit the app always lags behind the actual sales by about 10%). Will this eventually be integrated into either the dashboard app or somewhere easily glanced at on the dashboard?
-Along those lines--and I bet it will eventually be integrated into the Square Teams app--can team members message other members, request time off, and request shift changes?
I understand Alpha releases don't have all the bells and whistles, but Homebase is really robust and I've gotten used to the extras. Yeah, #getoffmylawn 😋

Great to hear from you! As you alluded to, this feature will not be as robust as something you may currently need for your business. What we are focusing on are baseline scheduling features. So while the features you are looking for are definitely useful for businesses, we are not at that level.
I understand this might be a good one to sit out as Homebase features are suiting your business well! Regardless, thanks as always for all your feedback. I shared your quote directly with our Product Manager so at the very least they can be aware of what merchants will need in the future.

Yes! I'd love to join up. Like Pesso, I currently use Homebase for scheduling and timekeeping, but I would be more than happy to have my event space switch over to using Square in an alpha.

We're in.
Currently we have tried using the app for clocking in/out. It works for some and not for others. I have set everyone up the same way, but only four employees actually see a time clock when they log in. Everyone else just sees their pay stub info. Would love to know how to fix this so I am not adding everyone's shifts manually. Any ideas?

As for the issue of clocking in and out only working for some of your employees, it would be best to chat over the phone and really dive deep and troubleshoot. Please follow the instructions on this Support Center article to speak with someone on the phone.
